military good idea to join?

i agree go for it join up and make the most of it i think everyone should have to serve but that's just my opinion. and thanx for all those who have served and protected us. if you don't think this helps then the oldest person you know walk and and say thanx for that and shake their hand if they don't perk right up they're probably deaf, lol. it worked on my wheelchair bound grandfather.

I agree with all about the military. You should join but i reiterate the point about going into a MOS that you are interested in. Do not let the recruiters talk you into filling a spot that is needed. Only go for what interests you and what will benefit you in the civilian world after your tour of duty is over. Remember the Infantry is a blast, trust me I spent 5 1/2 years with light infantry units, but finding a job that is related to that mos is hard. That is unless you want to go into security which is low paying and I have not seen many advertisements for mercs lately. Good luck on your decision.

The Army is the best thing that has happened to me. You can get the chance to see a lot of cool places, do things you only see on tv and get trained to do a lot of things for good and the better of mankind. Not to mention the pride you gain for yourself and this great nation. 13 years and I am still going strong, I would not change it for the world. I agree with Aurther when he said that you need to do what interests you. If you decide remember one thing (I can only speak about the Army) stick to your guns when asking for the job that you want to do. They will get you that job just hold out and do not let them tell you that this is all they have open as far as jobs go. Good luck.

Best job I ever had ,and as many that I've talked with I wish I could change time and be that 91c field medic again.Keep your head straight and military can provide you with a host of opertunity

I joined the Marine Corps right after Highschool. I will never regret that choice. Its what has made me who I am and how I do things. My only suggestion is do something that your interested in doing in the Military. Make the most of it. You get out of it what you put into it.
