I am struggling with my next airsoft purchase. I currently have a G3 with a drum that is worth about $230... I'm looking into a second gun... I've always wanted an AK47 with a drum. The money I'll spend on that will be about $240. The thing I'm struggling with is, do I want to put an M203 on my G3? That'll run me about $245 (basically the same as buying my new gun). So, which should I do? Do I want two guns or one really really awesome gun?

you should get a C MAG if you can find one. AKs with drums are pretty fugly imo.

as for which you should buy, i would go with 2 guns, so if your ever in need of a repair, your not out of the game, your just out of that particular gun.

plus, M203s are better for CQC than woodland, and i really cant see a G3 coming in too much handy for CQC...

My recomendation.... Do both. Why not have one really really cool gun and other cool guns too?
The way I see it, the more weaponry, the more options are open to you.

I agree, but as it stands right now, I can only do one at a time. I'm trying to decide which to do at the moment. I'm pretty well decided, but I would still like to hear other opinions.

i have a 203 they look cool and they work well for close quarters but are no good for long range unless you buy the nerf balls so do you play in big woods where you rarely get close to someone or do you play in smaller woods where your opponents are closer together ill try to get a video up give me two days to get that done. An ak with a drum would be sweet to what kind of 203 do you plan on getting echo 1 ?

Yeah, Echo1. Our field is big woods. Some parts are really thick too, so in some cases, you have to get closer than you want to or need to...

bleh....i dont like drum mags lol they frighten me....with my sniperness oh well ash....i think i'll be fine you just have to remember thats a lot of weight to carry around...two full sized rifles with drums is a lot of weight.

I put up a video on the 203 if you care to see it.

Thanks... I think I'll purchase one eventually...

cougar, sounds like your probably going with the ak option. I just wanted to second that thought for ya. I have about 5 guns and my ak is a staple in combat. I love it, I use it more than any of my other guns and I think that you will be very happy with your purchase. Good luck and happy hunting!

I know this is outdated, and you've probably already made your decision/purchase, but if you can hack it I'd say go with the AK/Drum Mag.

The 203 is awesome, but in Airsoft, only really serves well in CQB enviornments.

Since you previously mentioned that you play in an open, wooded field, you might as well have the extra ammo on you. Plus, it never hurts to have a support gunner for extra firepower. A lot of times you can continuously suppress targets to help your team advance, without having to worry about realoading. This came in handy for me last Sunday during a game: My teammate suppressed an enemy target with a 249, while I flanked around and took him out while he was busy keeping his head down.

Grenade launchers are made for super close encounters... Unless you get within 15-20 Ft. But I would invest in internal upgrades for your G3. Like I did and I LOVE the results cuz I have a G3 styled gun it has a g3 body and a CQB Front assembly with Rail system. And having another gun is both good and bad. Good: You got a back-up gun. Bad: Maintaining both guns may be expensive.

M203 Grenade can go out to about 100 ft with a 10-15ft spread. It depends on the grenade. The smaller the number of BBs the better the range and tighter the grouping, larger number the reverse is true.

But, I would go with the AK. Besides if you get one with rails on the bottom you can mount a mini grenade launcher and use it on both guns. Remember though you need to buy grenades as well as the launcher.
