my friend just got the new enhanced eco1 he took it out for the first time it worked well then it stoped the fuse conected to the battery was fried later it started working again it shot a couple times then i went to shoot it turned it to semi and it stoped working again my question the cold weather the fuse or what or are eco1 made to come out of the box not worken
Batteries are affected by the cold. For our last game of the semester for KSUAT we played in 20 degrees... my stock UTG 8.4 large type battery got all of 100 shots out before it statrted locking up.
Dependant on the temperature, 1. Batteries will be effected greatly. and 2. Over time playing in extreme cold will cause your gear boxes to start to get brittle and break.
Cold will cause the grease and such inside the gear box to become more solid and it will cause the gear box to work harder to turn those gears.
So rule of thumb just becareful when playing in extremel cold. Recommended? Dont play in weather below 20 degrees for any extended period of time.
Agreed. When ever I play in cold weather I try to put my battery in a warm place between games (like a pants pocket or close to your body) so that it helps to maintain its charge. Although I have gotten a good 5 hrs out of a stock JG 8.4 battery in below freezing conditions. Not the best for playing, but it was still fun. Anyway, get a big battery and insulate the storage area (stock, peq box, etc) and that will also help the battery out.
Well put BoyScout, It's true that gearboxes will become brittle IF they are plastic gearboxes or of poor quality metal. Other than that and/or the battery, it would have to be something else.
